ACU Quilt

Height: 77 inches
Width: 65.5 inches

These are Jae's t-shirts from Abilene Christian University. I've completed the quilt in just a couple days. That's what happens when I'm unemployed for a little bit. Jae has more shirts from ACU as well as EOU but he'll have to wait for those quilts to come along. Looks like I'm starting a new job next week.

Scarves: Mom and Dad

Mom got a tan scarf over her birthday weekend.

I knitted this scarf for dad a couple years ago. Dad wears this scarf a lot. I don't think I ever took a picture of him wearing it but here's Leah wearing it:

Representing Seattle Seahawks or Sounders: Mom and Brent

My next door neighbor Jen asked me to knit her husband Brent a Seahawks beanie. I told her I would knit her a matching scarf with it. I ended up knitting two beanies since one is a tad bit too big.

Here's a close up of one of the beanies:

Here are mom's matching set of beanie and scarf:

Scarves for mom, aunt, and other aunt

This type of yarn is pretty soft. My mom's scarf is the softer kind (supposed to be the expensive kind but it was on sale and bought it for an answer deal).

Mom picked out this yarn. This scarf is equivalent to 2 yarn balls. When I finished "casting off" the scarf, I took a look at it and hated how it was soooooo wide. Once I wrapped it around my neck, it wasn't so bad after all! Shoot, the reason to have a scarf is to keep one's neck warm, right? This scarf definitely covers that job of keeping one's neck warm. Mom will get this scarf when I see her next which is coming up soon, her birthday weekend. It's been nice wearing this scarf the past couple weeks in the cold. The scarf is soft, thick, and warm! (Sorry these pictures are blurry; they were taken from my cell phone).

Here is mom wearing her scarf:

This is Aunt Chantal. She wanted her scarf to be long. I didn't measure how long it is, but it's long enough.

This scarf is for Aunt Shirley. I really like the length and width for this one (55 inches long by 5.5 inches wide). This may have been my favorite scarf. I have not knitted a scarf for myself but if I had to choose a scarf to wear, it would have been this one:

EOU Santa/ Ski Hat

Jae liked the Santa hats I knitted awhile back and wanted an EOU pattern. So he got himself one:

2 Sided Blanket - Represent Seattle

My brother originally had the Seattle Seahawks blanket but it was too small for a 6'3 guy. The Seattle Mariner's blanket was a "give away" item when I attended a game over the summer. That blanket, too, was too small for a tall person so I figured: let's extend the two. Front and back, there you have a Seattle blanket...and a very soft one! (Glad he was happy with it seeing that I took it w/o his permission to extend the length for his xmas gift :) Dimensions: 86 inches by 59 inches (~7ft by 5ft).

Wrapping Paper... or uhh Wrapping Yarn?

For some presents this year, I decided to wrap 'em up with a knitting bag/cover.

Atomic Clock

DVD

Coin Bag

Gift Card

Picture Frames

There is another DVD pouch I made which is my personal favorite style where there are two buttons with a square flap rather than a triangle flap with one button. I forgot to take a picture of this one. Oh well.

A Fall Scarf for Cousin Tyler

I made this scarf for my cousin Tyler Blankenburg. I asked him what colors he wanted and he didn't care. He could careless if it was pink, green, or whatever. So I grabbed 3 colors in my drawers and thought this would be a nice fall color scarf. So... here it is:

Here are a couple pictures of Tyler wearing his new scarf:

Santa Hat into a Beanie style: Granny, Cousin Emily, Freddy

Jae's mother sent me a santa hat instruction for knitting. I took a look at it. I rose my eyebrows and thought, I could do this. I have never been a fan reading knitting instructions. I have to admit, I didn't follow the instructions at all. In fact, I did it my way and it turned out okay. It was also my first time making a pom pom for a beanie. It was quite easy to make it, thanks to YouTube videos!

Here is a sexy model showing off the Santa beanie:

I ended up giving the beanie Jae's modeling in to my Granny:

I made another one and my cousin Emily liked it so she got herself one from me:

The 3rd beanie was given to a friend. (Still await for a photo of him wearing it :)

Another Texas A&M Blanket

This is for Jae's father, Pops. His wife saw the Texas A&M blanket I made for Jae and thought "Pops" would love to have one as well. The dimensions of this one is: 86.5 inches by 60 inches. So.... here it is:

A Couple Beanies for a Couple Friends: Amy and Jenna

They picked out the yarn. Here is what they get in return. Though, it isn't the coolest thing you've ever seen, it's something.

Here is a black beanie for Jenna Romano:

Here is a dark brown, light brown, and blue beanie for Amy Holbrook:

Green Twine Bag Revised...

I added buttons! It probably took 5 minutes. I like 'em. Flaps are now secured. (Scroll down to the June 3rd post, and you'll see what the bag looked like before the buttons were sewn on). This is the closest to a "purse" you'll ever see me using. That's why it's more of a shoulder bag rather than a purse. And it's my favorite! Normally if we're going to go out, I'll give Jae my ID card to put in his wallet. I hate carrying stuff, unless it's just a water bottle.
